201 Lake Street Condominiums embody the vision and enduring dedication of Lowell Zitzloff and his family, whose business and development roots run deep in the Twin Cities, particularly in Wayzata and the Lake Minnetonka region. As the creators of 201 Lake Street Condominiums, the Zitzloff family has crafted a boutique, design-focused community that honors Wayzata’s character through thoughtful planning, lasting quality, and a long-term commitment to the neighborhood.

 

Together with Lowell’s late wife, Norma Zitzloff, the family built a legacy of responsible business ownership and commercial property development grounded in stewardship and community investment. Their family-owned companies continue this tradition of responsible ownership and development in Wayzata. 201 Lake Street sustains this approach by creating homes and commercial spaces that deliver lasting value for residents, businesses, and the community.

Owner  Representatives—Marco McLane Development LLC

Marco McLane Development serves as the Owner’s Representative for the 201 Lake Street Condominiums project, helping guide the development through completion and stabilization.  Founded in 2020 by Mark McLane and Tim Marco, Marco McLane Development was formed with a clear purpose: to deliver successful, ground-up real estate development projects.  Marco McLane’s developments are defined by distinctive character, with a commitment to quality and enduring design.

As an Owner’s Representative, Marco McLane strives to ensure the completion of a successful project, assisting the developer/principals—bringing experience spanning the full continuum of development. The firm’s principals bring 40+ years of collective experience, including the development of 1,200+ apartment units throughout the Twin Cities valued at $350M+, with $100M+ in regional commercial projects. This breadth matters on a project like 201 Lake, where execution requires coordination across architecture and engineering, city approvals and entitlements, budgeting and schedule discipline, and constant alignment between design intent and constructability. The firm’s leadership is rooted in end-to-end project delivery. Mark McLane is recognized for comprehensive multifamily and commercial development experience, having been directly responsible for development duties “from opportunity generation to stabilization and asset management.” Tim Marco brings nearly 20 years of commercial and multifamily development expertise, including site selection, entitlements, financial underwriting, debt/equity sourcing, and master planning, with an emphasis on collaborative execution. Together, they’ve executed projects across multiple asset classes.

Schmitt & Associates served as the initial architect for 201 Lake Street Condominiums, (originally known as Westway), helping shape the early vision and foundational design direction for the development. Based in Wayzata, Minnesota, the firm has provided architectural design and services in the Twin Cities since 1980, bringing a long-standing understanding of local character, neighborhood context, and the practical realities of building in established communities.

As an initial design partner, Bruce W. Schmitt & Associates is known for guiding projects from concept through completion, with services that include architectural design, site planning, and zoning review—disciplines especially important in the earliest stages of a condominium development. Mike Seifert, working with US Brokerage, brings decades of entrepreneurial and development experience to the sales and marketing effort. A building contractor since 1982, a licensed real estate agent since 2002, and a longtime Twin Cities business owner and developer, Mike adds practical market insight, constructability awareness, and problem-solving depth—especially valuable when buyers ask nuanced questions about finishes, timelines, and how the building will live day-to-day. With development experience dating back to 2001 and a track record of helping businesses restructure and position for succession or transactions, he contributes a steady “owner’s mindset” that supports clear communication, strong execution, and a buyer process built on credibility.  Darren Knight is the founder and licensed broker of US Brokerage LLC.  He is also an experienced lawyer who has assisted clients with residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout the Twin Cities.  Mr. Knight has worked with Lowell Zitzloff & family in many significant development and commercial real estate matters for nearly 30 years.  He has also maintained an office in Wayzata since the late 1990s, helping clients successfully complete several developments in the city.  In short, Mr. Knight knows the neighborhood and the principals.  US Brokerage strives to close transactions successfully, with all parties satisfied with the results.
